STULZ CyberCool CDU listed on the OCP Marketplace

The rapid expansion of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing workloads are pushing operators towards more powerful GPU-based servers, generating unprecedented thermal loads that exceed previous capacities. Consequently, the industry is witnessing an accelerated shift toward liquid cooling technologies at an unprecedented pace. Within this rapidly evolving landscape, standardization has emerged as a critical factor for scalability and supply chain efficiency. The Open Compute Project (OCP), founded in 2011 by Meta and supported by technology leaders including Google, Microsoft, NVidia, and Intel, has become the primary forum for developing open hardware specifications that address these challenges. As a global leader in mission-critical environments, STULZ actively supports the advancement of liquid cooling technology and the OCP open community. As a result of the recent collaboration, we are proud to announce that the STULZ CyberCool CDU is now officially listed on the Open Compute Project (OCP) Marketplace. This certification validates our engineering approach and reinforces our commitment to collaborative innovation in mission-critical cooling infrastructure.

Built on Google's Deschutes Specification

The CyberCool Coolant Distribution Unit is engineered on the "Deschutes" specification contributed by Google to the OCP community. This reference design addresses the demanding requirements of high-performance liquid cooling in modern AI and HPC data centers, establishing standardized interfaces and performance parameters that enable broad industry adoption. STULZ meets the requirements of this specification, combining them with proven engineering expertise accumulated over more than 50 years in mission-critical environments. The development work has been driven by our R&D team, ensuring that the solution meets rigorous technical requirements while maintaining the reliability and quality characteristics that have come to be expected from Stulz Cooling Solutions..

The unit incorporates a precision-engineered heat exchanger, sanitary-grade stainless steel piping, and advanced variable-speed pump technology to maximize heat transfer efficiency within a compact footprint. Critical design elements include complete isolation between the facility water and technology cooling circuits, providing enhanced reliability and leak protection. Intelligent control systems ensure accurate management of flow rate, temperature,  pressure difference, and water quality, with support for both local and remote operation via industry-standard protocols. The CyberCool Deschutes Unit provides 2 MW cooling capacity at 3°C approach temperature difference (ATD), delivering 500 GPM (1,890 LPM) flow rate. The unit incorporates N+1 pumps with fully redundant power feeds for each pump circuit, ensuring uninterrupted operation during maintenance or component failure. Additional capabilities include advanced filtration to maintain coolant purity, and standardized interfaces engineered for seamless integration into OCP-compliant environments.
